Chronic pain can be a sympton or a disease in itself.(1) Chronic pain is defined as pain lasting more than three months. It's one of the main causes of disability in the world, and it's estimated that as much as 30% of the population suffers from it. It can be a symptom caused by injury, illness, or dysfunction. In the case of fibromyalgia or constant low back pain, for example, it may be the disease. In either case, it can also affect one's mental health. Living with chronic pain often leads to depression, although there are also theories that state that depression may lead to chronic pain. Chronic pain can affect anyone from children to the elderly.

We would never make the claim that CryoDerm can cure disease. But we do feel confident in stating that it relieves symptoms. Our products and the ingredients we make them from have been developed by research. You can read all about it on our Research page.

CryoDerm Cold Therapy contains twice the amount of menthol as competing products. Menthol, the main monoterpene found in mentha piperita, is known to modulate nociceptive threshold and reduce sensory hypersensitivities in pain conditions. It activates peripheral cold receptors.(2) CryoDerm interrupts the pain/spasm/pain cycle that causes so much discomfort in the body.

The other ingredients in CryoDerm Cold Therapy are Purified Water, SD Alcohol 39-C, Arnica, Boswellia, Eucalyptus Oil, ILEX, Menthol, Peppermint Oil, and Dimethyl Sulfone. Arnica, which is used to reduce swelling, also has pain-relieving properties. The medical benefits of Arnica may be attributed to its chemical components, with demonstrated anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-microbial, and other biological activities. Research has shown that Boswellia has significant pharmacological inhibitory action in the treatment of numerous inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthristis.  Eucalyptus Oil is a warming agent and has powerful antibacterial properties. There are over 1100 studies of eucalyptus indexed on PubMed. ILEX, a member of the holly family, loosens arthritic joints and reduces swelling. There are more than 6000 studies of ILEX indexed on PubMed. Peppermint Oil is well-known for its anesthetic properties. There are almost 9000 studies of Peppermint Oil indexed on PubMed, and many of them are on the use of it to control another inflammatory condition, Irritable Bowel Syndrome. We of course do not want anyone swallowing CryoDerm Cold Therapy, but it does go to show what a powerful anesthetic it is. Dimethyl Sufone (commonly called MSM) sounds chemical, and it is, but it is produced naturally in the body, as well as in green plants and some animals. It's used to help pain and swelling and in particular for osteoarthritis.

Due to the opiod epidemic, physicians are more frequently turning to other treatments for chronic pain, such as non-addictive drugs, physical therapy, massage therapy, and topical analgesics (like CryoDerm Cold and Heat Therapy). Topical analgesics utilized in clinical practice have undoubted advantages, including reduction in or absence of systemic side effects and reduced risk of overdose due to low or no systemic absorption from topical formulations, relatively few drug–drug interactions, ease of use and dose determination, avoidance of first-pass metabolism, improved patients’ compliance, and direct access to the target site and underlying pain mechanism.(3)

For many years, CryoDerm was only sold directly through the offices of licensed healthcare professionals, but is now available directly to the public. If you've never used CryoDerm for your chronic pain, we encourage you to give it a try. It's plant-based, gluten-free, dye-free, paraben-free, and cruelty-free. As always, we still give wholesale pricing to all licensed healthcare professionals.
