September Song
Oh it's a long, long while, from May to December
But the days grow short, when you reach September.
When the autumn weather, turns the leaves to flame,
One hasn't got time, for the waiting game.
~Lyrics by Kurt Weill and Maxwell Anderson
September is upon us. It's one of my favorite times, and there's always something special about seeing that first flock of birds flying south, and the first leaves swirling to the ground. In many cultures and traditions, Autumn is considered a time of reflection and renewal. It's a good time to take a good look at your life, both personal and business. It's a good time to ask yourself, "What is serving me, and what is holding me back? What can I do differently to improve the situation?" and reflect on that.
If you're employed by someone else, it may be the time for you to take that leap of faith and open your own business. Or, if you're tired of being the one responsible for everything, it may be the right time for you to fold up your tent and become an employee, so you can clock out and not be worried about your business 24/7. We're human and we're all different, and we want different things at different times in our lives.
Renewal can take many forms (we're not talking about plastic surgery!). It can mean losing weight, or cleaning and clearing, which is kind of the same thing. It's great to be diligent and save tax returns, but if you have boxes hanging around from 30 years ago, it might be time to let those go. Cleaning out your office for a fresh start is a good thing. State licensing boards generally have rules about how many years you must save client files. If you haven't seen them in the last decade or however many years your board requires, shred it!
It might be time to spruce up with a new coat of paint, or change up the artwork (even if that's just switching it from one room to another). You might find some great treasure of a table or chair at a yard sale for $10 that would look great in your office. Be creative!
If you don't retail any products, consider offering the items you actually use on your clients. When they feel the effectiveness of it, they'll purchase without you having to be a pesky pressuring salesperson. Never tell a client they need something you're selling. That's unethical. Use it during the session, and it will sell itself. CryoDerm offers wholesale pricing with no required minimum to all licensed providers.
How long has it been since you switched up the massage products you use? When I got out of massage school, I continued using what was used at the school for ten whole years. Then I tried something else and my first thought was, "OMG, I've been putting lard on people!" CryoDerm's TheraBlend line of massage products address every part of the body...not to mention our pain relief products that may be used for spot work, or in place of or in harmony with massage products.
If you don't have a wholesale account, give us a call at 954-978-9290 and we'll set that up for you.
We hope this Autumn is a wonderful time of reflection and renewal for you.
